I did a lot of research before purchasing this product. My main goal was to find a fireplace that looks as realistic as possible. I even visited my local Home depot and Lowe's stores and checked out the fireplaces in stock.

In order for the fire to look realistik you need the logs and embres to fluctuate. Most fireplaces just have "glowing" embers which means that they have a light in them the glows red. Now any child knows that logs glow and crackle and that without fluctuating embers the whole thing looks fake.

This Classic Flame electric fireplace does an amazing job simulating a fire. The logs and embers not only fluctuate but they actually have sparks in them that show up when the crackle sounds come up. Yes you heard me right, this fireplace simulates the sounds of a burning fireplace with the chimney sounds and the crackle of the wood. The coordinated sound/sparks add an amazing touch of realism to the fireplace.

Initially I was looking to spend only up to 0 but for that price I could only get models that look very fake. So if you want a real realistic electric fireplace this is the model to purchase.

I did not elaborate on the heating element since it is a small heater that is integrated into the fireplace and provides heat for a small room. The heat is definitely useful but i did not get this fireplace primarily for heat but for creating a warm ambiance in our 4 season porch.

Initially when I set this up my kids believed that it is a real fire and were scared to put their hands on the glass. Once I opened the glass doors they very cautiously touched the logs only after i showed them that they are not hot by putting my hands on them.

This is a great product, The mantle is very nice and the insert very well consructed. The remote is also a great feature.
